Do I have to be registered and logged in?
You don't need to register with us if you only want to read the forum messages. However, if you
would like to participate in the discussion forum, i.e., if you would like to post new threads or
responses, then you will have to be registered and logged in. Registration
is free and takes only few minutes.
Why do I have to log in to participate in the discussion forum?
Malejole is an online community and as such it is important that each member is identifiable as an individual.
We also encourage you to create your profile as this fosters the community spirit on which this site depends.
Can I use HTML code in my posts?
Yes you can. However, for security reasons, the HTML support is very limited in the discussion forum. Only
the <A>, <IMG>, <B>, <I> tags are supported in your posts. For your convenience, all the URLs and email addresses are automatically
hyperlinked. For example, if the type in the URL http://www.malejole.net or just www.malejole.net,
it will be automatically converted to http://www.malejole.net or
www.malejole.net respectively. Similarly, an email address like name@domain.com would
be converted to name@domain.com.
How can I insert those smilies in my post?
Smilies are the images to represent your emotions in the post. You will see these images on the right hand side
of your screen, whenever you are the composing the post. You can insert these smilies by simply clicking on them.
Note, that when you click on the smiley, the code for the smiley is inserted in your post. This code will then
be translated when preview or submit the post. For example, when you click on a smiley a code such as "[smile]"
may be entered. However, when you preview or send the post, you will see
instead of the code. You may also just type in the smiley code in your post instead
of click on them from the list. You will see the code for a particular smiley when hover the mouse over that image.
Who are moderators?
Moderators control a particular forum that they are assigned to. They have the power to edit, delete, or move any posts in their forums.
If you are unhappy about a particular forum, you should contact the moderator with the problem.
Can I edit my posts?
No, only the moderators are allowed to edit/delete any post. This is to maintain the sanity of the forum.
We encourage you to always preview your post before submitting it.
If you feel that you made a mistake in your post, then please submit another post in the same thread clarifying
that. Also, you may ask the moderator to edit/delete your post on your behalf.
Can I attach files in my posts?
No, for security reasons we do not allow this. However, you may cut and paste text into your post from outside articles.
You may also use HTML Code to provide hyperlinks to outside documents.
Can I be notified by email when someone post a reply to thread I am participating in?
Yes. If you are the owner of the thread (i.e. if you started the topic), then you will always receive an email
notification, when someone post a reply. If you are not the owner, i.e., you are just posting a reply in the thread,
then you will see a checkbox to receive email notification whenever someone participates in the thread.
This notification feature, of course, is available to registered members only.
